Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Modbus Poll (the "App") is a desktop application for macOS developed and maintained by Muh Syafiudin. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles data when you use it.

2. Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. The App contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no telemetry, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking services of any kind.

All configuration you enter into the App — including IP addresses, serial port settings, slave IDs, register addresses, and polled values — is processed locally on your device and never leaves your computer through us.

3. Network Activity

The App makes outbound network connections only to the Modbus TCP/IP devices you explicitly configure. These connections go directly from your computer to the host and port you specify in the Connection panel (typically a PLC, gateway, sensor, or industrial device on your local network).

The App does not contact any server operated by the developer, Apple, or any third party for analytics, advertising, license validation, update checks, or any other purpose.

4. Serial Port Access

When using Modbus RTU mode, the App accesses serial devices (USB-to-RS485 adapters and similar hardware) through the macOS serial subsystem. This access is granted through the standard macOS sandbox entitlement com.apple.security.device.serial and is used exclusively to communicate with the Modbus device you select.

No data captured from serial devices is transmitted off your computer.

5. Local Storage

The App may persist your last-used connection settings (such as baud rate, IP address, or function code defaults) on your local device so that the App can restore them on next launch. This data stays on your computer inside the standard macOS App Sandbox container and is never uploaded anywhere.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, cloud backends, or external APIs.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is a technical tool intended for engineers, technicians, and developers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone — children included — because we do not collect data at all.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated in the future, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be reflected in the App's release notes.
